I am an orthopaedic surgeon and first-year Executive MBA student at The Fuqua School of Business graduating in May 2026. My connection to Duke University began long before I stepped on campus—my middle school basketball coach, a disciple of Coach K, instilled in me the values of teamwork, respect, and selfless service. These lessons from the Duke Basketball playbook have shaped my leadership and problem-solving approach. Before Fuqua, I spent nearly a decade in surgical training, honing my ability to navigate high-stakes environments with precision, collaboration, and strategic thinking. My desire to be a better advocate for my patients and broaden my impact in healthcare led me to pursue my MBA at Duke. Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a proud husband and father. Parenthood has deepened my commitment to building a better future—not just for my children, but for next generations of Duke students and leaders.
I applied for the Young Trustee position because I believe in Duke’s ability to drive change in higher education, research, and healthcare while making a global impact. As a physician, MBA student, and father, I recognize Duke’s responsibility to remain innovative, inclusive, and forward-thinking. I am committed to engaging Duke’s alumni network to create new opportunities for students and leveraging our institutional assets to ensure we are relevant for the next 100 years. With strong listening, critical thinking, and collaboration skills, I am eager to serve Duke with the same dedication I bring to my family and profession.
