Ned Gilhuly is a founding partner of Sageview Capital, LP, an investment firm that provides growth capital to small and mid-sized software and tech-enabled service companies. Sageview has over $1.5 billion in assets under management.
Prior to founding Sageview Capital, Mr. Gilhuly was at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR) for 19 years. He joined KKR in 1986 in San Francisco, became a partner in 1995, and from 1998 until 2004 he established and oversaw all aspects of KKR’s business in Europe. He also served on KKR’s Investment Committee from its inception in 2000 until his departure in 2005.
Mr. Gilhuly graduated from Duke University Magna Cum Laude in 1982 with a B.A. in History and Economics. He received an M.B.A. in 1986 from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
Mr. Gilhuly has been on over 25 corporate boards and is currently a member of the boards of directors of Anitian, Demandbase, Elastic Path Software, Elemental Machines, Legrand SA, MetricStream and Pantheon Systems. He is also a trustee emeritus of the California Academy of Sciences.
A resident of Woodside, CA, Mr. Gilhuly and his wife, Karen, have four children, three of whom are graduates of Duke.
Mr. Gilhuly was elected to the Duke University Board of Trustees in 2013. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee and is on the Executive Committee and Audit and Compliance Committee. He previously served on the Duke Management Company board for 17 years, including 6 years as Chairman.
