Kacia is a recent graduate from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts with Sociology. At Duke, Kacia was a David M. Rubenstein Scholar (DMRS) and Questbridge Scholar, mentoring for both DMRS and DukeLIFE. She is a proud first-generation Jamaican-American. As a student, Kacia spent most of her time devoted to Duke University Union, serving as the Executive Vice President and in other capacities.
Prior to joining the Board, Kacia participated in the Board of Trustees Strategic Education Program in 2021-2022 and served on the Undergraduate Education Committee in 2020-2021 and in 2022-2023.
Kacia applied to the board in hopes of serving in an impactful manner that will contribute to the longevity and accessibility of Duke. Kacia believes that key to this goal is continuing to aid Duke in its endeavor to be and cultivate global leaders. Kacia believes she can fulfill the role of young trustee due to the breadth of her Duke experience as well as her dedication and passion for Duke as a whole. After graduating in May, Kacia relocated to Atlanta to work at Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant.
Kacia was nominated by the Undergraduate Young Trustee Nominating Committee in 2022 and currently serves on the External Engagement Committee. She is serving a two-year term on the board, one year as an observer and one year as a voting member.
