Erika M. Moore G'15

Erika Moore is currently a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer West, Erika studies the roles of macrophages in enhancing vascularization of biomaterials. She previously graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering in May 2013. Erika has been recognized for her commitment to learning by being awarded the following accolades: the NSF Graduate Research Program Fellowship, the Ford Foundation Fellowship, the Dean’s Graduate Fellowship and the James B. Duke Fellowship from the Duke University Graduate School. In addition to her academic pursuits, Erika founded “Engineering a Community”, a mentoring program for minority students in the Pratt School of Engineering, and serves as a Graduate Resident in the Housing, Dining and Residence Life Department.  

Ms. Moore was elected young trustee by the Graduate and Professional Student Council in 2017. She serves as a trustee observer for 2017-2018 and is an observer on the Duke Health Academic Affairs Committee and the Institutional Advancement Committee.
