William Brody is the founder and Managing Director of BlueDot Properties, a commercial real estate investment and property management firm, based in Durham, NC.

Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, William graduated from the Lawrenceville School in New Jersey and went on to earn a B.S. in Economics from Duke University in 2012. While at Duke, William was a student manager on the varsity football team, a teaching assistant in the Economics Department, a Senator in the Duke Student Government, and President of the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.

After graduating, William worked for Deutsche Bank Asset Management in New York City and then transitioned to the Gilt Groupe, an e-commerce retail company. While at the Gilt Groupe, William drove forward a new international business-to-business division which became the fastest growing entity within the company.

William returned to North Carolina to earn his M.B.A at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. William was elected Co-President of the student body where he set policies for student organizations and proactively addressed diversity related challenges on campus. William’s creation and involvement in a task force between students and the administration led to the introduction of several sweeping changes within admissions, course offerings, and institutional support regarding inclusion initiatives. William was the recipient of the Keohane Award for “exceptional leadership” and “accomplishments on behalf of the school.” He graduated in 2018.

BlueDot Properties has several ownership positions in the Triangle and Tidewater regions across a variety of asset classes. William's goal is to expand BlueDot’s presence by developing first class, distinctive, sustainable projects in the Carolinas over time.

William was elected young trustee by the Graduate and Professional Student Council in 2019, and served as a trustee observer in 2019-2020. A voting member in 2020-2021, William is a member of the External Engagement Committee, Committee on Honorary Degrees, and Duke and Durham Today and Tomorrow Strategic Task Force.
