The Board of Trustees is the governing body of Duke University. As the university’s fiduciary, the board is responsible for Duke’s long term health, overseeing and aligning its strategic direction, educational policy, finances and operations with the mission of the university. Through its two affiliated boards, it oversees the Duke University Health System and DUMAC, Inc., the university’s investment company.

YOUNG TRUSTEE APPLICATIONS:
The student nominated for the undergraduate student position will serve a three-year term on the board, beginning July 1, 2021—one year as an observer and two years as a voting member. First-years, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the undergraduate student body are eligible for the Young Trustee position. Eligible seniors include those designated as December graduates of the senior class. To apply for the position of Young Trustee, please complete the Young Trustee application by 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 28.
The student nominated for the graduate and professional student position will serve a two-year term on the board, beginning July 1, 2021—one year as an observer and one year as a voting member. Current graduate and professional students, as well as students who have graduated in the spring or summer terms of 2020, are eligible. To apply for the position of Young Trustee, please complete the Young Trustee application by 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 28.
